Memory Lane...

One of the best things about the Snider & Stanwyck project - aside from writing and performing music, of course! - is our parallel past. We have memories that we share, but we never knew one another. Gillian remembers all the times that she, her siblings and cousins, and all the children of the Tommy Hunter Show cast, would be on the set taping shows. We'd be running amok down the corridors backstage and we always knew that when that red light was on, we could NOT go through that door! We never liked to ruminate on what the repercussions would be, we just knew they'd be bad; we never realized that on the other side of that door, one of Canada's favourite country variety shows was being filmed and broadcast in front of a live studio audience!

Not to say that we didn't have our own time in front of the limelight. Gillian's television debut happened at the tender age of 7 when, during a big production of the song Candy Man, she was picked to crawl through the legs of the big Gingerbread Man prop (probably because she was the smallest), jump to her feet with a big smile on her face and throw her hands in the air. What she did instead, however, was jump to her feet and very deliberately pull up her leotards. On national television. Centre stage. She couldn't figure out why the entire studio audience was laughing...but they decided it was a take! And so there you have it. Gillian's 15 minutes of fame :)

Stay tuned for Leslie's trip down memory lane next Tuesday!

Well good readers, have a wonderful week - and remember - you never know when your 15 minutes of fame is gonna happen, but when it does, make it good! In the meanwhile, enjoy life and keep lovin' and listenin'!

Yours in the Prairies,

Gillian & Leslie
